I've been very happy with State Farm. I've never had to file a claim, but my agent's office is very good about periodically reviewing everything with me to be sure I have the right coverage, and the rates are, I thihk, very reasonable. Whether it's the company I'm most happy with or the agent, well, I'd say it's a close race.

I've been with Amica ever since we had a house in Texas. I originally went with them as they offered some types of home owners insurance that other companies in Texas didn't offer. The Dallas area is known for having a lot of clay in the soil which can cause a lot of problems with the house's foundation. I stuck with them once we moved to Phoenix.

They've been great to work with over the phone, competitive rates, and get a rebate check every year since they are a mutually owned insurance company.

I have Safeco through an independent broker. I made my choice based on rates only. Chose between Safeco (independent broker quote), Liberty Mutual, and State Farm.

Have had Allied [a Nationwide company] several years now for auto and home [and before that, renter's insurance]. Overall have been satisfied with rates and service--in my experience, having a good agent has made a huge difference regarding the latter. Good luck!

I tried Safeco, Allstate and Costco's. Costco is the cheapest. I go with with Costco. Costco uses Ameriprise Insurance.

Well, if it's all about price and nothing else, then you have your answer. I'd do research on customer service, complaints, etc., before I would go with something just because it was cheapest. Try a Google search.

I heartily second the USAA idea, but you usually have to be military or recent ex-military to qualify.....and their auto insurance is legendary as being the best....1-800-531-8722, I think

otherwise, State Farm is decent

From my personal experience, go online get a few comparison quotes. Then approach your broker. This will allow you to negotiate a better rate on your current or future premium
