Because we are not "other smaller-sized cities." Phoenix grew in a different manner than other cities in this country, therefore taking other cities transit solutions and plopping them down in the Valley isn't what's best for us.

Uh, who elected the state government to power? The people of Arizona. The majority of Arizonans have shown what's important to them and education doesn't make the list. Neither do transportation pet projects unless they're new freeways, which are beneficial to the masses.
