Default Good area to live?

I am so far in consideration for a job (made it past 1st interview) at N 31st ave near loop 101 (the north part of the loop if that helps). What's a good area to live in with a not so bad commute?

Hopefully I get the job so I can hurry and move to AZ. Just need a good area to live in. I will have school age children with me. Thanks for your help!

Not all of Peoria is nice. She said a "good" area. In addition, it's a bit of a jaunt compared to the Cave Creek & Deer Valley areas are much better in relation to where the new job is . . (much).

The area where your job is would be a good area. I would stay north of the 101, as that is the nicer area. That should put you in the eastern part of north glendale and that's a great area to live. Anywhere from north glendale to north peoria are great places to live. Are you renting or buying?

No, not all of Peoria is nice... I did not mean that he/she should live in ALL of Peoria. Specifically, not far off the 101 there are some good North Peoria/Glendale neighborhoods. I personally would not consider it that much of a jaunt, but I come from a much larger metro area, so my perception is sometimes skewed.

CC and DV are also good areas; it just depends on personal preference.

CIA, what specifically are you looking for in a neighborhood?

I believe 31st Ave and the 101 would be a nice area. Most places near there will be good areas. I agree with Sablebaby, you will usually find the nicest areas north of the 101. Deer Valley is an area of N. Phoenix that would be just to the east of where your employment is that would also be a good area to consider.

Most importantly, good schools. I don't want a run down neighborhood. Close commute to work. Not to expensive. This is the most important, everything else is minor.

Deer Valley and north Peoria districts have good schools and neither are rundown neighborhoods (well, you will see them around as "pockets" but just don't look in that direction ). This will put you in a close commute as well. Do you have a street map handy? We can help you draw around on the map good areas to live that are close to work.
