My first thought is don't. Avondale north of the freeway or Goodyear north of the freeway or south of the freeway but west of the airport are much better bets. Maybe parts of Laveen, too.

Litchfield Park is good. One thing to consider is commute. Not sure if you'll be working or where, but Litchfield Park could add a few minutes to a commute. If that is not a concern, Litchfield Park is a nice area.

A very nice area indeed.

Litchfield Park was one of my options when I contemplated moving to the westside of the metropolitan area.

If I didn't currently live in such a nice neighborhood in northern Avondale I would have bought or leased in Litchfield Park.

Where does north Avondale stop and become south? i keep hearing that it is a nice area but i don't know were to look. Thank you for all of your help we thought we had a lot more time to look but our house here in Colorado sold in 4 days so now i need all the help I can get to make my search smaller. Commute is not a huge issue as long as there is shipping near by.

You want to be north of the freeway (I-10) in Avondale if you are looking for a home there.

yep ... the areas around dysart & indian school are pretty good in avondale

i don't think that all of southern avondale is bad and there are some neighborhoods that I like there .... however, they seem to be a little on edge with the economic downturn and I'd be cautious committing to living there

for the SW Valley I think it's best to stay above I-10 for all areas and west of Bullard when you go south of I-10 ..... i personally live south of I-10 in Goodyear and love it
