So, I just moved here a couple weeks ago. I like it, although somedays are rather frustrating. I just spent the past 45 minutes driving around the area trying to find a place to vacuum out my car MYSELF. I saw a Danny's Car Wash and a few other car cleaning places every other mile (I'm sorry but I refuse to pay some immigrant $15 or $20 to clean my car... I'm not that lazy!), but for some reason I could not find a place to do it myself. I don't really understand this. I live in a nice part in Peoria (83rd and Union Hills), so I'm sure that my location has something to do with it. In Michigan, there's a place to vacuum out your car every mile or so. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I had the same problem too when I first starting driving again out here a year ago! I couldn't find any carwashes where you put in the coins and spray it yourself and vaccuum yourself. That's because I was looking in the wrong places. They generally tend to be located in older, more "ghetto" areas. I'm not sure about Peoria, but in Tempe, South Scottsdale, and western Mesa there are self-service car wash places all around, especially along Apache Blvd/Main St and on Broadway Rd.

Yeah, you'll probably have to look in older neighborhoods, although I wouldn't go so far as to call them ghetto areas. Real estate prices around the Arrowhead Mall don't exactly lend themselves to coin-operated car washes.
I would suggest heading a little east to 67th Ave or 59th Ave and then go south. I bet you'll find a self-serve car wash soon enough. I know there is one on 7th St. and Union Hills, but that's a bit far to drive just to vacuum your car. |

I'm not sure how far it would be for you, but I go to a coin op at 107th ave and Indian School.
I think it is called 'Sparkling Car wash'. |

Did you look around at the gas stations? Lots of times they have air and a vacuum off to the side. We bought a Shop Vac for real cheap and just do it from home now!

When I used to live in that area we never could find any self car washes either. We would resort to areas that we used to live if we wanted to wash or vacuum out car. I know there's one near me now over at 27th ave and Deer Valley, and one at 40th st and Thunderbird, just in case you find yourself in those areas one day!

There are more at 43rd Avenue and Peoria across from the Target store and another one at 35th Avenue and Cactus across from Moon Valley High School.

The closest one to you is probably the one at 35th Ave and Union Hills.

if you can get a power cord near your car, then I would consider investing the 18 bucks or whatever in a mini shop vac.
Same thing as a big shop vac, only its about 1/3 the size. Enough for doing a car. |

The Thunderbird Car Wash around 87th and Union hills (I know it's between 83rd and 91st ave) has a self wash and vaccum station. It's a newer car wash. It's on the south side of Union Hills.
