I sent a link to Jandtheshay's video to a Monk Parakeet expert I found online, she confirmed that this flock that we saw in Steele Park are Peach Faced Lovebirds, she thinks there is a feral colony in Chicago as well.

I had the pleasure of seeing these birds again today and have updated the video to include some new footage and pictures. There's a really cute "exchange" between the lovebirds. Enjoy! Video: Parrots in the Park 2: Peach Faced Lovebirds on Vimeo

Once again J, nice video! Guess that's why they call them "love birds"?

I remember, living in NY, looking out my window and seeing a green parrot looking bird. Found out they are taking over NY and are found everywhere. It was good to see that in your link

Not sure we have the kind of nectar that Lory and Lorakeets like to eat, but maybe love birds. Van Nuys has quite a few different flocks of parrots that survive on the fruit and nut trees there. I would have loved to have seen the Thick Billed parrot survive here but last I had heard, the released few were not doing very well.
