Cold is awesome. Because when it's cold, you can always put something on and feel warmer.

When its hot, you could be butt-naked and you'll still be hot! Not to mention, get burned pretty bad.

Rain is also good, because it keeps everything green and lush.

Ice sucks. Yeah.
Yeah, well I have never found myself "butt-naked" walking around in the Phoenix heat. The good thing about AZ is that evrything is air conditioned. You go from your house to your car to wherever you are going(unless you work outside) and it's nice and cool. I'd live here over any cold snowy place anyday!!!

Now I admit the average high numbers for the summer look awfully low, but if those are the statistics, then I guess those are the statistics.
Those statistics look like they were done by someone who has not been here for about 10-15 years.

When the rocks/stones are too hot for my dog to go wee-wee - and I have to wet them down with the hose to cool them off so he can.....it's H-O-T - and definitely not 104.

My poor doggy is going to need shoes soon.

For some reason, it just seems like every summer is getting hotter and hotter than the previous. Now I have been here since I was 'yay tall' and this heat and dryness is really starting to get on my nerves. We're moving to Florida next summer for about 5 years before heading back to Phoenix....and honestly - never thought I would say this....lower temps, humidity and rain will be a heavenly break for me. After 5 years in FL, perhaps I will be fed up with that and ready to come back and deal with Phoenix again with more appreciation. Maybe.

I agree, your lucky. My skin is so dry the bottoms of my feet feel like I already have shoes on! When my friend goes back to FL to visit her father she always loves the moisture. Expect a breakout or two and some bad hair at first though. But really what can beat the beach! Your never to far from it down there.

Actually Ive been in Phoenix since 1992, so yea...15 years.

The statistics are from Weather.com and I assume from actual recorded temperatures, not some made up numbers.

The thing is, I think they average out the daytime temperatures to get those numbers. So while it may be 112 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, the rest of the day it averages below that numbers, even in the high 90s during the morning hours. That's the only thing I can think of for them to show those averages.

And really it's not a bad way to look at it, again it might be 112 for a couple hours but not all day. Looking at the high temp of the day doesn't give you the whole story.

Hey Everybody, We will still be battling the sun and the heat Friday and over the week

Thank God for local weather! I suggest anyone moving here interested in our weather should go to AZ.com or Channel 12 AZ for a realistic and up to date forecast. High of the day means the highest reached temp of the day. They will be driving home in it after work everyday, they might as well know what the temp really is at that time of the day. I'm a native and it's still hot! I am sure the winters are still cold to someone in Massachusetts, and I know the stats on winter lows are a rare event. Thats why they are in NC! It is hot here, this is not a lie. If you like hot you will love it here. If you don't, well, you won't like summer here. Just because you say it's hot does not mean you hate Arizona! If you want the stat. temps move to Payson AZ. They sound right for there.

Where I am, nightime temps are always a good 10 degrees cooler than the official airport lows and it cools off after sunset much more quickly. Our daytime highs are a couple degrees higher though.
