Default Teaching jobs in Phoenix

African American male here in Chicago is contemplating relocating to Phoenix in two years and would welcome any feedback from other teachers that have relocated to Phoenix in search of a job in the field of education/teaching. Also I'm visiting Phoenix in mid-June and interested in meeting other educators for suggestions on relocating, credentials needed for certification in Arizona, and other ideas....

I have lived here for several years but am an experienced teacher. Unfortunately, many districts are unable to hire new teachers because so many have been laid off recently. Those teachers whose jobs were cut due to lack of funds will have first dibs on any new teaching jobs that open up.

That said, if I were you I would just start checking out the school district websites. There are indeed VERY many Phoenix school districts, but start with the suburbs. Paradise Valley, Tempe Union, Kyrene, Chandler, Scottsdale (Home page of the Scottsdale Unified School District Web site).
