see if you can find something in the 85254 zip code in that price range...I hope you can....

I don't think you can get something that works for a family of four really close to the Airpark in that range, but try....problem is the Scottsdale address adds 20% or so to a house....85254 has a Scottsdale mailing address, but is in City of Phoenix....

I don't think you'll have to go to a 45 minute commute...that's pretty generous and you'll find something closer.....

there are school rating websites....look for those....I don't know the good ones (websites).....

One of the best in terms of school ratings is greatschools.net - the thing to remember though, is that the ratings are based on test scores, which can be a decent indicator of the education there, but doesn't capture a lot of the other pieces that you may (or may not) be looking for in a school (diversity, etc)...

If you search at all on realtor.com, the ratings of the nearby schools given on each listing is from greatschools...

We moved to into the DC Ranch Area, but we liked most of the aeras in Scottsdale - just not the houses or the price or both. I would stay north of Camelback rd and east of Tatum. I agree with another poster, rent first or stay at a hotel for while to get a feel for each area and what they can offer you. We decided to just stay at a hotel instead of renting. We didnt want to be locked into a lease or have to rush and buy furniture for a place that we didnt intend to be our home. Try the Homewood suites. It isnt far from where your looking and they are pet friendly, which was kinda of important since we have two terriers! Scottsdale also has a couple of awesome dog parks and places to hike if thats something that might interest you.
