That would depend on what you consider nice, it has newer homes, newer buildings, and fewer illegals, it's nice enough for me!

Some people seem to enjoy the central phoenix area, which I find horrible, so it's all subjective.

Carefree is probably the nicest area of the Valley, IMO. Gorgeous homes, very quiet, huge boulders, etc. North Scottsdale is ok, nothing overly exciting about it.

I'm with you on Carefree.

I live "down the road" at I-17 and Carefree Highway and will drive through Carefree anytime I'm over in that part of town. If I ever have a ton of money fall in my lap, Carefree is where I want to move.

I agree, Carefree and the far North Scottsdale area is the most beautiful desert landscape with the boulders and saguaros everywhere.
