Hello,

As I have posted before, we are relocating to the area from Indiana. Well time has gone too fast, and its time for my husband to move out mid April. We want something with no big lease so that we can all move out as soon as we sell our home and get something for all 6 of us.

I have discovered a place called In Town Suites in Gilbert, which is where we will probably reside, and its reasonable. Its located at 2350 W Obispo Ave.
The reviews for one of the Phoenix locations are very bad, so I wondered if any of you fine City-Data folks knew anything about it. It needn't be too great, but hopefully not gawd-awful?

Any input is welcome- we have to find something SOON! And no, its not paid for, it comes out of our allowance. Thanks!!

Any other suggestions? Anywhere from 4-10 weeks?

No personal experience with that place, but the online reviews are not favorable for Suburban Extended Stay Hotel (five one-star ratings on Google) which looks to be near the same location. Where will your husband be working? Maybe we can help you find a place with good reviews that fits your budget.

Thanks, Dura. He will be working in S Scottsdale near Hayden and Mac Dowell.

It seems that there is nothing cheap in Scottsdale. But any suggestions are welcome. He wants no lease, but internet and cable.

Checked and the Suburban Extended Stay in Gilbert is the same, In Town is new mgmnt.

Also found Sonoma Villiage Apartments in Mesa near the community college. Its closer.

It doesn't look like anything in the lower price range is going to get you five out of five stars, more like two to three stars out of five stars, but you might seriously consider staying away from one star places. You might want to check out the following instead (no affiliation, in no particular order):

As a rule of thumb, if you are looking at places near Mesa Community College, it is generally better to stay south of Highway 60 (a.k.a. Superstition Freeway). Of the extended stay places listed herein, it looks like the one on Isabella Avenue might be the least expensive, running about $35 a night (based on a one person stay from 05 April 2010 to 31 May 2010). Make sure to ask if they have monthly rates, as that might be less expensive than daily rates, assuming you'll be there for at least a month.

The one on Isabella Avenue is next to a Jamba Juice, Starbucks, and The Good Egg. There is a post office (contracted postal unit) on the NE corner of Dobson and Baseline, a grocery store (Albertsons) on the SE corner of Dobson and Baseline, a Wells Fargo inside of Albertsons, a Bank of America and UPS store next to Albertsons, and umpteen other restaurants around the area. You can also find a golf course, city park, and library on Dobson just south of Baseline. I've only driven by the Isabella Avenue place (it's next to Dobson Ranch) but I've never stayed at any of these extended stay places, so maybe someone else can provide you with some more feedback and/or suggestions.

You might be able to find a place for less, but typically you'll get what you pay for, so make sure to do your due diligence, and maybe consider booking a place for a few days to see if you want to stay there before committing to a longer length of time. My opinions, worth the price paid.

Dura, I can't thank you enough for all your research. I will keep the Homestead Suites on Isabella in mind for him.

I have also gone on Craigslist and notice there are a number of NICE sublets right in Scottsdale that are available for the summer months, vacation condos or snowbird units that are less $$ due to summer being your "off " season- still trying to wrap my mind around that. I may have to change my handle to " hart4october" after moving out!

But THANK YOU for your area boundary info.
