Town, developers attack pipeline plan
Town, developers attack pipeline plan "As proposed, the pipeline would enter Buckeye at approximately 243rd Avenue north of Bell Road and travel next to and east of Sun Valley Parkway. The line would then follow the corridor across the Tartesso and Desert Creek developments and continue southwest to the Buckeye Salome Highway." I have been really interested in relocating to Tartesso, but what kind of effect would something like this have on the surrounding communities? |

Well. So much for me moving to Tartesso, unless I want a giant gas pipeline running through my yard. Okay maybe it's not that bad......I'd have to see how close it is to my house first...maybe I just shouldn't buy there now....
I better follow this story closely... |

It will probably get shot down, or rerouted. Either way, I doubt it will go directly THROUGH the communities.

I just hope your right and this thing gets shot down. I just hope that everyone considering buying a home in Tartesso is aware of this. This is something the Builders will keep to themselves.

Indeed it is - But you must keep in mind that this is very recent, the proposal isn't more than a month old, I don't think.
Another good thing to point out, is that the pipeline would probably get built long before many of the planned developments, which means, if it does get built, the development companies will have time to alter their plans. |

Here is the good, the bad and the way things will be.
If you vist Tartesso or travel down Sun Valley Parkway you will see that the gas pipeline has started and very well underway. 1. The good is that quite a bit of it is in the desert even while passing through Tartesso. More good is that it is being set deeper than it has to be to make sure people feel safe and they are also putting sensors near it to let them know if someone starts to tamper or dig near it. 2. The bad is that the portion of it running right through Tartesso at a few points are right near houses, about 20 feet away but the majority of houses will not be near it at all because even though some of it will past right through Tartesso and near some houses most of it seems to be traveling right beneath the power lines which sit on land that is not going to be used for housing. As a matter of fact the amount of space being used for the pipeline in Tartesso is realatively small in comparison to Tartesso itself. 3. The way things will be is that Tartesso like Glendale, Phoenix, Peoria and other cities and towns will have gas lines burried in one spot or another and in time people won't even know or care as long as it does not leak or blow up. My former home in Glendale had a pipe line that ran right through the back end of my back yard and I lived there almost 18 years before I found out and most of my neighbors did not know either. Why because in time people just dont think about it and as people move out and new ones move in they are not aware most times of what utility lines run underneath them or near them and don't give it a second thought. I love my home in Tartesso and was a little upset at first but then I realized that no matter where you live these days you will always be near power lines, gas lines, garbage dumps, railroad tracks, power plants, gravel pits, backsides of malls or other commercial buildings facing you, ect., ect. ect. So you have ask yourselves what are the pros and cons and then decide if you want to live in that place. As far as Tartesso goes even with the pipeline which won't be seen and the power lines that are seen to me when I look at the beautiful and majestic White Tank Mountains which I can see from both my front and back yard and when I look at the miles and miles of all the un touched beautiful desert around me and when I see how much care seems to be going into how Tartesso will look over all espically with all the natural desert running through it and around it I feel this is still one the best places you can live. |
