I have a friend who has come upon some bad times and is currently living in a hotel. He has bad credit and has been kicked out of apts before. He's not a criminal and is turning things around as evidenced by him recently getting a full time job. Since he doesn't have internet I'm trying to help him out. Can anyone recommend any affordable apt places that he may have some luck at, ideally in the central Phoenix or Tempe area.

Feel free to PM me your recommendations so this doesn't look like it's spam.

2 things--- he might consider a private landlord (maybe start with renting a room, or apartment) as listed through Craigslist-- also, he might look at Fernwood Manor

Thanks for the advice, he has been looking on Craigslist and yesterday he took the day off to apply at places, I'm not sure if Fernwood Manor was one of them.

I would go with the private landlord. Apartment complexes really don't care about bad credit. However, being kicked out of other rentals will likely be a deal breaker.
