Default Where to donate clothes in Phoenix?

We're moving and have come across a ton of clothes we'll never use again. I used to give them to the Purple Heart Foundation, but they don't pick up clothes outside the east coast. I'd prefer a home pickup. Any suggestions?

Salvation Army, Savers, Goodwill, Brothers and Sisters, St. Vincent DePaul, and the corner boxes you see everywhere in the parking lots.

Rick there is a "House of Refuse" Charity operating in Williams Field Airport in Mesa. They use the old military base houssing. They bring families who have hit bottom, homeless and have nothing but the clothes on their back.

They provide them with a home and supplies and help them to get back on their feet so they can move back out on their own.

I belong to a club that is part of Val Vist Lakes. We support that charity. We take supplies out there a couple times a month.

There is one lady within our group who is in charge of our charity committee. If you would like to donate your old clothes to the House of Refuse, then send me a DM and I'll get you you in contact with her so you and she can make arrangements to get the goods to her. She will then take them to the airport.

If anyone else has any type of household goods, old clothing, etc that one can use, let me know. This House of Refuse organization provides a badly needed service to families who need some support to get back on their feet.

The easiest way is Goodwill stores. They have many around the valley. Their dropoffs are usually located at the back of their store. A guy will come out, and help unload your car or take the donated clothes and hand you a receipt. It's the easiest way to donate old clothes and they take everything. You don't have to make an appointment or anything either.

If you are donating furniture or large items, I recommend Salvation Army. Call them and make an appointment for pick up. They will come to your house with a couple of guys and will move it for you and put in their large moving truck.

Sojourner Center for Domestic Violence LINK

They give many of the items to the Women and Children staying at the shelters. Anything else is put up for sale in their Thrift Store and is used to run the shelter.

They will send a truck out right away to p/u any items and give you a receipt.

Thanks guys. These all sound like worthy causes, but I am looking for convenience, as I'm moving and my two vehicles are a motorcycle and a two-seater sports car. I don't have a lot of cargo space and I'm busy every waking moment for the next few weeks. I need a home pickup and will get on this in the next day or two.

Just put them out front of your place in some bags with a "free" sign... the streets are full of people looking for discards. I'd bet they are snapped up almost immediately.

Disabled Veterans has periodic pickups and we will often leave a bag out for them - not sure if you can schedule a pickup though

Pretty much all of the charities that offer donation pick up in Phoenix are on DonationTown.org. (If I'm missing any, let me know!) Type in your zip code and you can choose which charity you want to come pick up your stuff.
