Tivo Premier is not a TV service provider, it's an HD DVR receiver that works with your cable or satellite service. It would replace the cable box you get from Cox. You still pay Cox to deliver TV service, plus a Tivo subscription fee for their TV guide service. I have the previous generation Tivo S3 HD receiver. Works great with Cox service, plus I can watch Netflix movies through it over the internet.

I had Cox before and had no probs and with it the internet and phone.
Now I was forced to get Direct b/c they didnt have Cox at the last place I lived (which was weird to me cuz it was in metro PhX). I also got the net with i(well bundled with Quest phone service)
So I guess Direct is ok...but I had to...you guessed it...pay a deposit.
200 dollars hello!
Quest actually didnt make me pay a deposit-shocking.

Well, you do have to sign up for TiVo service, but that's separate from and in addition to satellite or cable.
