It’s a sad day that any officer is shot at or worse hit, hopefully this officer will make it.

The individuals that encountered the officer are more then just illegals they are organized criminals bringing drugs into the country. Many of the citizens of this country need to understand where their drugs are coming from and the terrible situations that our officers go through while trying to enforce the drug laws. Perhaps the drug appetite on this side of the border is too great?

At this point in time, no officer should be working alone!

Sorry I don't think so. Do you know how many people I see around the Phoenix area with automatic assault rifles? A lot. Where are they coming from? Gun stores. lol

Wouldn't it be Mod Cut: not funny... if it was the neos in AZ that did it?

Mod cut...personal.

Hope the officer recovers. How do they know that this was an illegal? Brown skin?

God Bless! I was worried about this happening more now. Before they knew the cops couldn't do anything, now they think they can and will probably shoot first and run. This sucks!

So if he asked them for their citizenship status, that would have prevented the deputy from being shot in the stomach? I fail to see how 1070 would have prevented this situation from occurring. The Sheriff's department already racially profiles so how does 1070 change anything from a practical sense? I wish people would think instead of drink the Kool Aid from either side.

They were looking for maybe 5 guys involved in the shooting last night and ending up arresting 17 illegals out in the desert! Gives one an idea of the scope of the "immigration" problem.

How did one acquire an AK-47 to begin with. Maybe we should reduce access to guns. Have any of you been to a trade show? There is very little if any background checking and you can acquire pretty much any gun you want.

AK-47? That's a childs gun, anyone can shoot one, and they have been used by cartels, among others, for years. You can pick these guns up almost anywherw, and it takes absolutely no skill to use one, which is why they're so common among those in Africa.

I just read on 3TV that he was only GRAZED by the bullet, not shot. Very misleading title.
