If you want to live near the "hip", it's going to cost you some "hip" money. Your work location as folks have mentioned is near Scottsdale (oh how I miss thee). Bring plenty o' money if you want to rent or buy in that part of the east valley. Otherwise, just live in south Chandler and take the 202 up to work.

Phoenix I do miss you a lot b/c it's been 8 longggggggg months without you.

Just need to be near an airport for most of my travel. AND I do love to drive to mountain areas . . . plan to make a few trips throughout AZ - Flagstaff in particular, and my son says there's a lovely mountainous area close to Phoenix to explore. One of my dreams is to have a cabin in the forest near a stream or a lake.

My other son and his wife are moving to Queen Creek from Franklin, NC. More in the southwest region of NC than Charlotte.

I have a couple friends who live on the north side of Phoenix, they seem to like it there. And one who lives in Scottsdale. In fact I'll be there this coming week to take care of some business. Am having lunch in Scottsdale with my daughter, daughter-in-law, and some gal pals.

The forest and the lake are like beach front property, costly and hard to get. 6 to 900,000. Cave creek is nice and has a creek running through with homes on it. Its up past Sedona.

Isn't Cave Creek River a dry river bed ,that only has water for a short period of time when there is a good rainfall?
I believe purpleiris is looking for a year around running water stream.

Why are you leaving NC? I thought people were flocking to that area? We had considered it at one point too.
