Welcome to AZ. We also felt that the people we met here were more friendly than in CA were we were fleeing from. You will enjoy Surpise and I hope you enjoy our wonderful snowless winters.

That's too bad because you miss the best part of the day in the summer. It is heavenly from sunrise to about 9am this time of year. Just sit outside and read the paper, work on the computer. Wonderful!!!

SCW age restriction was lowered to 45 recently. Surprise is still one of the best investments and areas in the west valley. Their crime is no worse than any other decent city in AZ. Depends on what part of town you live in. The growth from Surprise to Wickenburg and beyond is the next best and fastest growing area of all Maricopa County. AJ area is comming alive for growth too.

MotleyCrew, thanks for the welcome. You can bet that I WILL enjoy the snowless winters - I have always HATED the winters in Ohio, I am a warm weather kind of gal. I definitely won't miss being so cold that I want to die, or getting up in the morning to be welcomed by a windshield that needs scraped!
