Hi,

I was wondering- do any of you go to get spray tans?
How does it work? How long does it last? I've never done a spray tan before.
Can you wear shorts if you don't care about tanning your legs to much?

Thanks.

Seems like a waste of money when you can just walk outside.

Seriously. I've gotten a job offer in Scottsdale and coming from Portland where it's cloudy (and the people are pasty) 8 months out of the year, spray-tans in a town like Phoenix seems a bit unnecessary.

I think a spray tan would be healthier for your skin then laying out in the sun-that's like laying in a tanning bed which isn't good.

Actually, people are pretty pale here too for the most part. You learn quickly that the sun is not your friend and that you need to stay out of it or employ sunscreen, hat, etc.

If you airbrush, you may be able to wear shorts b/c it is precise, the spray tan machines will spray your clothes though b/c it just sprays a mist from top to bottom and then you rotate for the back side. It is MUCH healthier for you than just going outside in the sun.

I spray tan all the time and I love it! Yes, you can wear shorts, just make sure they are dark and loose. Also, make sure you pay attention to the tan care instructions they give you. I would recommend you using a product like Body Armor: DHA Tan Extender from EnvyTan. This will help your tan last longer and fade evenly.

I know that you are standing while you do the spray tanning but-do you wear flip flops while you spray tan?
Who knows if they disinfect the floors after each spray tanner, right?!
