With these temps this weekend, I suspect places like Troon will be offering $5 rounds of golf. lol Theyll also have caddy's out there following the golfers around with fire extinguishers, to put the flames out.

No dice, the cheapest rate at Troon for this Saturday is still $80 and that's at 4pm. The early morning hours are still $128. What they're saying is "suck it up, buttercup"

Default How can people stand the heat in Phoenix?

I have always wondered how can people stand daily 100+ degrees for months on end?
And what is so attractive about Phoenix that so many people live there yet it's so hot?
Coming from Perth, Australia...where the temp would hit 100 maybe 2 or 3 times a year...I found it very uncomfortable and couldn't imagine it being months and months of such temps!

As far as I'm concerned, people truly want to live in places like LA and San Diego, which are similar to Perth, but they also don't want to compromise on their lifestyle, so they put up with the summer here in exchange for a cheaper LA the other 8 months of the year. I myself am going to move to California in less than 5 years

Climate for me is probably one of the most important aspects of a place! Does anyone not have AC in Phoenix? What about pools? Are they common?

It depends.....just using my street as an example, about half the houses have pools, the other half don't.

I literally have no idea.

Pools are really common in Phoenix but not so much else in the other parts of the state. Tucson for an example doesn't have a whole lot of pools.

Inland Australia reaches similar temperatures to Arizona.

Phoenix has a lot of good qualities, like decent economy, one of the cheapest large cities in the country, relatively good infrastructure, pretty easy rush hour, lots of outdoor recreation and scenery, and amazing summer nights and winters. Some people think the heat is worth it to get all of the rest. Arizona and Phoenix are places that don't look good at first glance but getting to know both of them better and it'll grow on you.
