Since the ones coming are educated and have money to invest, I have no problem with you. My daughter works with several Canadian newbies here and she loves them all. Welcome and thanks for not just walking across the border and for respecting our laws.

I sold my last place to a couple from Maple Ridge. It was smooth as silk.

I am in the immigration process right now and it has been a long road, as it should be. I haven't even moved yet but it bugs me that people literally walk over the border and live there.

We are moving for a few reasons, affordable housing, weather and to try something new. We are leaving a strong economy - that part is not so good.

seems to be a common trend. I've met a ton of Canadians here in Phoenix Metro. There are a lot of people from Vancouver and Toronto that have moved here.

I've met many Canadians who now reside in the Valley of the Sun.

We've been wanting to move ot at least spend the 6 cold months of winter out there mainly for the climate. We used to spend our winter holidays in Florida but find the dampness too much for us now. So we would be going out to Phoenix mainly for health reasons and of course to escape the cold which never seems to let up. The reason we haven't gone yet is that it would cost us over $18,000 in health insurance for six months. And that's just for me, hubby hasn't filled in his forms yet. Some friends do go and don't bother with health insurance but it's a big risk to take. I've been told that if we would move there I would probably be cured because of the heat and nice weather so we're trying to weigh things at this end.

I've met quite a few people from Alberta. Many started with having winter homes, to becoming full time residents. Not one of them was ill mannered or rude in the least bit!!! Most of em were better than a lot of locals i knew hahaha.

Although, I might wish i could do things the opposite (at least temporarily) I'd love to spend some time in the B.C. area to get a vibe for living in a different country.
