My absolute favorite band is REM, and the lyrics from their song "Bad Day" reminded me of this photo... one of my hatching baby pythons saying Do you mind? I am NOT in the mood for photos!
"Broadcast me a joyful noise unto the times, lord,
Count your blessings.
We're sick of being jerked around
We all fall down.
Its been a bad day.
Please dont take a picture
Its been a bad day.
Please."
Moon River, written by Johnny Mercer & Henry Mancini. Performed by many artists. Song was first sung in the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Audrey Hepburn.
This picture was taken at the American River in the early morning hour.
♪♫ 'Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.' ♫♪
When the night has come and the land is dark,
And the moon is the only light we'll see.
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid,
Just as long as you stand, stand by me.
- Ben E King
One of my favorite songs is "All Summer Long" by Kid Rock
The part of the song I always think of is the last line of the first section and the first line of the second section:
"It was summertime in Northern Michigan
Splashing through the sandbar, talking by the campfire"
This photo was taken after an afternoon spent swimming in Lake Michigan, mostly out on the first sandbar from shore.
