I think I like "desolate" as a theme. Seems fitting for January. It's also pretty broad. I'll go with that unless there are objections.

If my entry is a problem for not literally conforming to the theme, let me know. I won't argue with it being removed.

"If the month ends on the 31th then photos must be submitted no later than the 28th." which means January 28th is the last day to enter this contest.

Did we decide to let the voting go on for 5 days?
