The Peabody ducks send you season's greetings!

The Peabody Hotel ducks leave a lobby festooned with lighted garlands. Taken this Sunday, the 18th Dec 2011.

Every evening at 5pm the duckmaster (seriously that's his title

) speaks to the audience of scores of people who started to gather at about 4pm. On his microphone you can hear about every third word, but can get the gist. Then he gathers the ducks and marches them to an elevator where they go to their digs on an upper floor. They make their celebrity appearance in the morning at 11am. During the day they float in the lobby fountain for six hours a day. Cushy job.

I gotta say, I was really surprised by the voting this month. There were so many excellent photos, as somebody said, it took a flip of the coin to decide which one to vote for. It's a beautiful season, and the whole group did such a great job capturing that beauty!
