Here we are again and it's time for yet another City-Data Photography Contest.

If you've participated in one of the previous contests, the format is basically the same.

Here's the rules:

Theme by our last winner: Natural Habitat Plant life

the place or environment where a plant or animal naturally or normally lives and grows.

The only thing I would say is that it CAN NOT be "planted" and must be outdoors. Please emphasize outdoor plant life.

Dates:

Pictures must be taken after November 10, 2008

Pictures can be submitted any time AFTER November 25, 2008

The poll for voting will be set up and opened on December 3, 2008

Voting will last until December 9, 2008 and the winner will be announced.

Other important information:
1-First and foremost the goal of the contest is to have fun and get off your duffs and out shooting pictures. So please, no stock photos or ones you took 'two years ago while in Rome'.
2-Please post your picture, date taken, location, and a title of the picture.
3-If you see something that is not original work that's been posted here, please repost the post AND DM me too. We will take care of the post, the picture, and the ramifications of that activity.
4-No restrictions on dimensions, try and limit file size to 400K, but no one is going to be penalized on file size. If you can size it down, great. If not, don't worry about it.(We'd prefer about 800x600 but we won't be mad at ya for larger.)
5-Only one picture per participant please.
6-When photos are submitted, if any are found to be off the theme at hand, I will remove it if I feel necessary. We have had some photos that were off-topic and might have caused voting to be skewed. At the end of the day though, it's my call and I will not discuss my decision to remove a photo or to allow it to stay. I'm just not getting into the drama.

This contest was just an idea that materialized and we've worked through, and isn't officially sanctioned by City-Data. So if you have issues and or gripes, direct them to me, not City-Data.

Now get out there, shoot some plant life, and have you pictures ready for the contest!

(For comments and or questions, please post in this thread : November Contest Natural Habitat Plant Life Discussion

POST ONLY PHOTOGRAPHS ON THIS THREAD.

The thread is now open. Enjoy!

Default For the love of Ivy!

Ivy loves to attach its self to anything in site. This old house just happens to be in its way. When everything else is dead, ivy will long after still be green. It's like the energizer bunny! It just keeps growing and growing. Where it comes from...who knows? Ivy finds you and its own place to grow. It's a mystery of life I guess.
