You know, I love the morning fog or mist. It's almost like putting a nude stocking over
the lens for the nearly the same effect.

2goldens - the post on the contest said "plants or animals in their natural habitat". Are animals included or this is purely plants? Need clarification please!

Animals are fine, but the emphasis needs to and should be on the plant life.

Sorry I saw this was directed for 2goldens, hope my answer is sufficient.

Much of the nature's plant life is pretty much dead around here too. Though our ducks stay year-round, but survive much on "human generosity".

I realize this photo was captured before the start date, but using it as an example for clarification of the subject, would it be considered acceptable since the natural habitat is barely visible? I shot this Southern Yellow Pine tree in a field nearby my home in the Upstate of South Carolina:

Ummm.... this is a challenging topic. Very interesting topic, Matt Angry. I'm guessing I'll be out of this one... since I'm pretty much gonna be stuck in my natural habitat! Good Luck to all who participate.

Question Clarify please...

A real question: Say, would the trees growing in a small thicket in a nearby subdivision count? I mean, they have been there all their lives, so it's their natural habitat, right? The hills were full of them before 'progress'. The houses were built after we killed their kin... Would a photo of those trees be acceptable?

This is hard Matt! I don't know if I could drive far enough to some place to shoot flora in its natural habitat. If there were any, they're probably all shrivelled up at this point!

Sure it would.

It being hard is what makes it fun. Challenge yourself, try something new.
