i use a nikon d300 and nikon 105mm vr macro lens. marilyn uses a d80 and tamron 90mm macro

vert important part of our technique i forgot to mention is our flashes. i use an sb-900 and marilyn sb-800... isnt it amazing how boys always get the more expensive gear? lol
we shoot in manual on the camera settings , and then use flash in ttl to expose the subject .the camera in manual lets us get the background as dark or as light as we choose and the flash freezes any motion in the flowers or bugs once it becomes the dominant light.

You know what I find odd? Why do they call it Macro Mode, when you're taking pictures of things that are Micro Sized.  |
