Great pictures...as I was born in the early 30's and can now see how I looked back then.
Some of the old signs...Nehi soft drinks...Kellogs Rice Krispies back then I don't recall... just a lot of puffed wheat which I hated.
Do remember going to the railroad tracks with my mother and picking up small pieces of coal into a wagon that had fallen off on to the ground. A railroad worker would come by and see what we were doing. At times I was told (by mother) to climb up the coal cars and throw down some bigger pieces of coal...yes your right...I was stealing...hey I was just a kid then and it was depression time...we were poor.
Still loved all the pictures and some do bring back memories.
I just looked at a picture of me sitting on a piano seat when I was about 4 yrs of age. Do remember having to sit posing for the camera...that would be in 1935...dang if I did'nt look just like some of those kids pictured.
Picture looks like a strange kid...nothing to resemble what I looked like many yrs later.
I especially like #42- I was born in 92, but I remember being 9 or 10 and finding the best stick in all of the land with groups of neighborhood friends, pretending we were "Lord of the rings" war heroes... Corny? Or the best time of my life?
That was an amazing array of historical photos. Thanks for sharing the link!
Seeing how some of those people lived makes me especially grateful for all we have today.
