I tried the program on a winter scene...It works well.
only problem is snow is white not blue. lol ,,,the cars come out okay but the way it does skies is pretty bad. i would stick to only doing objects themselves with that software ,it doesnt have enough dynamic range to be useful on total scenes,... also the white van in the car photo is blue as well. the way it renders fine detail in the tree's leaves isnt good either.
to be honest im not crazy about the results i have gotten from that software at all and deleted it at this point. free or not ,i saw no point in even playing with it when products like photomatix are light years better. even the photos on their website are not really up to par in my opinion.
one shot hdr from photomatx with good exposure:

It's a matter of taste...I prefer the three pictures I posted over your image above...In any case I see nothing wrong with the skies, or the "blue" snow. Regarding the detail in the trees that can be adjusted, but I like it that way....I'm not going for realism here ya know.
you should play with the free trial of photomatix... you can set your white point to the things that should be white again and same for blackss.. the sliders are indespensible.. problem with one hdr shots is that if you dont nail the exposure you get an ugly turquoise or white like the sky in the yellow car photo which is pretty much gone.
i found with the one click hdr the way those trees look is the way your stuck with them. i couldnt get that jagged oversharpened look out of anything i tried with leaves.
well mine does it in one step also but i shoot five min .... that puts me up 2 and down 2 with one in the middle.... manually doing is difficult because you cant let the camera move at all during the bracketing . you have to be so careful and keep it on a good tripod.
