I learned how to use Shutter Priority by taking photos of seagulls because unlike some other smaller birds that zoom to to a landing spot, seagulls glide in. Beginners, if you have never used shutter priority on your camera, I recommend seagulls for practice. Besides the way that they move, there are plenty of them in one spot to practice on.
