Default Autostacking in lightroom 3

if you are like me you can end up with so many versions of the same file in your library. i can have 7 hdr raw shots of different exposures plus many versions of the hdr tiff. one set had 12 photos.

i decided to try the autostacking feature in lightroom. it stacks the photos together in one pile based on capture time in the medadata.

i saw the camera took no more then 2 seconds to bang out 9 photos in an hdr bracket so i decided to try auto stacking over 5,000 photos.

i clicked on autostacking and put in 4 seconds as the time to consider whats a stack.it did an amazing job stacking together all the different photos that belong
together and did all 5,000 photos in a few seconds.

if you never tried it give it a go.

that was impressive.

I hate stacking. It just doesn't fit my workflow.

works well in mjy workflow ,i like that ability, i can have a few hundred photos in a folder shooting hdr. no need for my eye to scan through so many photos and to keep scrolling thru stuff if im looking for something..

we also started doing alot of black and white work too so we can end up with many versions of the same file .
