This fox came running when I called it in.
Responded so fast it almost got me off guard. Called blind and the fox came out of a brush pile along the river. Ran up the cliff, stopped when he saw me, did get some close ups. Interestingly there was another fox on the far side of the river and these two had been checking each other out.
If I was hidden, he would have come in a lot closer.
Barely cropped, 180 prime lens.
He wasn't that spooked as he went back down and across the tree. He started to dig around for food. then I saw the other fox across the river as this guy went into the brush pile along the riverbank. I then went down and crossed the tree as the wind was in my favor and the fox appeared to out of sight. Eventually the fox figured it out and ran to the tip of the island, thought it was going to swim. Then it ran at me passing by at 5 feet, hit the tree at full speed and up the cliff. Got off two photos but shooting now in RAW and with autofocus I only got two quick shots, neither of wich are great. When in tight spots these fox seem to act rather than stop to think. I was hoping the fox would stop and think, nope.
One of dozens, some playing Tarzan, some enjoying delicacies (as this one is). Taken in 2011 at a small, sleepy, railway station in south western India.
