Default A little of the architecture in Charleston

Living here, I often get used to these sites but I thought I would post some pictures of the walk the family and I took this afternoon. One of my favorite things about residential downtown Charleston is the hidden gardens, interesting architecture, crazy addreses, and the window boxes! Enjoy.

You're lucky to live in such a pretty place! And I love that the residents aren't afraid to use a pop of color occasionally. So much more adventurous and fun!

OMG! I have to go there one day! I don't live that far away and have never been. Looks like tons of my kind of photo ops.

Great job on the photos!

I used to live up your way and it's like a different world down here! Yes, there are great photo ops. The colors are so saturated. This was only two streets we walked down and you can see all of the variations. You're only three hours away, that's practically a day trip! Food is utterly divine as well.

I went there right after Hugo hit and it was just trashed at the time... then went back two years later and there was a really good restoration of many of the hard hit areas. I haven't been in a number of years and need to get back down there with a proper camera and take some updated shots.

Hugo did a number on Charleston. All of these houses in these pictures were flooded through the first floor and remember Hugo was pre-FEMA, so all of the work to restore Charleston was done solely by the city. Some areas of Charleston saw 22 feet of water; not to mention the wind damage. Many questioned if we could ever come back from that amount of devastation but it did and better than ever! Can you tell I love my home?
