Default Is it difficult to sell the kit lens?

I am planning to get the Canon 5D MarkII. I only need the body($2100) but the price of the body plus the kit lens is really good($2700). The lens itself is priced about $900up. The question is how easy is it to sell the 24-105 f/4 lens? Has anyone sold your lens? I don't think I want to use the Craiglist as I don't really want to meet up the potential buyers. Ebay? Amazon? Any thoughts or advice? TIA!

I assume you don't plan to use the kit lens, then it's not well spent money, even if it is $300 less than if purchased separately. And getting anything less than what you paid is pointless.
You can browse the online sites and see what they are selling for.

The question ... Is it difficult to sell the kit lens?
The answer ... not if you price it right!

I'd found an online deal at $599 for my Sony A55 with kit 18-55 lens. Normally, the camera sold with the kit lens for $699 and just the body for $599. So, while the kit lens by itself may be priced to retail at $200, discounted to $100 as a kit lens, I opted to go for it because even if I sold the kit lens for $50 (which I did for $75), it was more or less free money. I had plans to replace the kit lens for something faster anyway (bought Sony 16-50 f/2.8), so the only reason I got the kit lens was the deal. At normal retail, I would have gotten only the body.

In your case, unless you can sell the kit lens for at least $600, there would be no point bothering with it. A good way to find out would be the price the lens commands on ebay and Amazon.

Depends on what lens it is. L lenses will keep their value but slower non pro lenses are not worth it.

I believe the 24-105 f/4 is an L lens.

I would not pay that much for a 5d mark ii lens or not. If you don't want to buy used from a person look into the canon loyalty program. Find a cheap used canon for your trade and you will save a bundle.

Almost any single digit canon that comes as a kit will be an L lens. 5d, 7d... The 1d series isn't usually offered as a kit because most photographers at that level will have many L's already and don't need the "kit" L.
