FYI, wool uniforms, no gloves, a catch on one bounce or a catch in the air is an out, no strikes or fouls except 3 swinging strikes in a row is an out, umpire can fine players (one fine was 10 cents because player wasn't wearing his cap), respectful players calling out "well played" or well struck" and the best part was three cheers for the winning team hip, hip huzzah!
The photo I posted in post #941 - and for which I have received all-too many undeserved rep comments - is NOT my own!
Mods, please delete it, but leave my apology.
Long ago, I'd saved a couple of stock photos I liked, hoping to emulate some aspect of them.
With that one, it was obviously the lighting. And I'd saved it among several of my attempts to achieve a similar look.
I can only blame senioritis, compounded by an excess of celebrating a long-awaiting Spring - but when reviewing those old shots today and prompted by my SO's "when did you take that shot?" I began my trip down memory lane and realized there was no there, there.
It's a fine pic. But it's not mine and I am very sorry for posting it as such. As a professional writer, I deeply value copyright and although it appears to be a stock photo and I can't attribute the proper photographer - I can only reiterate it is NOT mine and I hope whoever sold it, got a good buck.
I hope the rep comments I received can be deleted.
