I have a picture that I found at a thrift store. It is dated Jan. 6, 1946 by the photographer, Hugh Frith. How do you find out the value of a photo? It appears to be an original of the Pamir, which sank in 1957.

You can take it to a photography appraiser at an auction house or find one through a trade organization like the American Society of Appraisers or Appraisers Association of America or you may be able to find one through your insurance company.

I don't know what it's worth but you may have a photo taken by Henry C. Norman who arrived in Natchez, Mississippi in 1870.

Here is a large collection website "The Gandy Collection: Norman’s Natchez" which might help your search: Natchez: Friends of the Riverfront

Default Value of Richard Kauffman Photograph

Hi, I have a photograph by Richard Kauffman entitled, Devil's Profile. It is approximately 9" W x 14"H. Would anyone have any familiarity with this photograph. Would you know the value of the photo? This is my first time on this site and I am pretty much of a dinosaur. I really don't know how to make a new post and don't even know the difference between a post and a thread. So I hope I'm on the right message board. Reply at Moderator cut: don't include your email in a post, please! Sincerely, Chuck Spinner

I have 4 photographs of padre pio, with stigmata, dates 1939, 1945, 1955. My grandfather purchased them oversees (he was in the US Navy) during WWII, while he attended a mass by Padre Pio. Are they worth anything? Backs of photographs say "ABRESCH FEDERICO, S. Giovanni Rotondo (Foggia), PROPRIETA RISERVATA" Each also states the year.
