I have to admit - I love bugs. They fascinate me, especially close-up. Show me your bug photos! Please?

The other day I went outside to water my little herb container garden, and found a bunch of caterpillars on the Italian parsley. At first I was bummed, having already lost my basil to those stinkin' Japanese beetles. Then I realized these were no ordinary caterpillars, did some research, and learned that they will turn into Black Swallowtail butterflies. Now I'm happily sacrificing the parsley (I wasn't using it much anyway), and love watching them.

This guy had recently shed his skin - you can see it behind him.

Earlier this season, I found this tiny little spider on my basil:

Cropped a little tighter:

Ooh, love your spider shots!

I'm using a Canon Digital Rebel with a Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. The lens was a Christmas gift from my husband last year, and I'm having a ball with it.

Thank you so much.

I've got a Digital Rebel EOS (Canon) and I shot both of those with my 70-300mm Zoom lens (both at 300mm).

Alpha I can almost always tell which camera byt the DOF...meaning the creamy DOF of a Canon. I use to own the canon S2. I gave it to the daughter n law when I bought the Nikon D40. I have really missed it! Might just buy the S5 for the movie recorder!

Thanks for that, I've been trying to figure out how to do that.

I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0

I love it but it takes some time to learn all the ends and out. I purchased a couple of books that have helped me jump way forward in a fairly short period of time.

Thanks again for the kind words! I'm still a rookie but love the learning process.
