Currently, I transfer my photos to Picasa3, then move them to Shutterfly in album form.
I'm wondering what other people do. I like my system but am thinking that there may be better ways.
Thanks.
I always keep my original image files in a seperate directory. Then I have working files. In addition to storing on my computer, I frequently back up to two external USB hard drives.
Locally, I use Aperture for file management and the Nik suite for editing. Cloud storage on Flickr.
I have had a paid account on Flickr since 2006. It is my primary photo site. A lot has changed in the past few years, some/many of the changes have been for the good, some have led to frustrations and disappointments.
I do not believe Flickr has "Cloud storage", but I could be wrong.
Downloading your files from Flickr use to be a pain which required third party applications, and did not always download the file with original file names and at times EXIF data was changed. But I could be wrong, a lot has changed in Flickr.
Flickr is a good deal, the free or paid version is a good deal. It has a lot of features. There have been a lot of frustrations with it over the years... But I do not involve it with my important backups...
Are there any free sites that you can send multiple photos to at once (as in a folder on my desktop with 20 photos)? I have SO many photos, it would take me a LONG time to transfer them all one at a time.
Thanks!
It is possible to do with Flickr... Grab the photos and drop them on the Flickr upload page. No extra software required. There might also be separate software to do the task. I have uploaded as many as 50 or 60 photos at once.
