I love old dirt roads and two-tracks...I am such a rut-nut. Especially of the historical variety.
This isn't historical...but I loved the sunrise that morning...

This is of the historical variety... I have hiked the Oregon Trail across Wyoming and had decided to expand a bit into Nebraska. This is from Windlass Hill in Nebraska (at Ash Hollow outside of Llewellen). The tree is sitting in the deep rut (erosion has helped the cut deepen).
And this is at the top of Windlass Hill (a very steep climb!!) I am standing just left of the swale of the Oregon Trail:
You may have to strain the eye a bit - or utilize your imagination...but I am standing in the middle of an ancient Chacoan road. The small swale cut near center of the image is the road. This road was built a bit under 1000 years ago...and this segment is outside of Bloomfield NM near Angel Peak.
I, too, would like to rep you again, but can't. What a spectacular image!
Dang! I just tried to send you a private message, Highland Lady, but your settings won't allow me to do so. I'd love to know how you get that amazing contrast in your cloud shots!
