Thank you Deus.

Your Fujifilm FinePix is a superzoom; 24-960 40x. You mentioned in your post that is one aspect you enjoy.

Most pocketable P&S cameras won't have that zoom range... superzoom cameras are that size for a reason. My recommendation would be to buy a later iteration of that same line since you are familiar with the camera's operation and happy with it.

If you want something pocketable to go along with the P&S in that price range, I'd probably recommend just using whatever is on your phone.

DPreview to research. I second KEH for a selection of used along with Adorama and B&H.

However, it's not as small and convenient to use as a point-and-shoot camera would be, so I'd like to try to get one that is affordable and would be convenient to keep in my glove compartment.

So, if some of y'all can offer some recommendations for digital cameras that might be available for around/under $50 on places like eBay, Amazon or Craigslist, I would really appreciate some replies. Thanks in advance to anyone who offers a helpful reply!
I have been using a PowerShot A1400 for several years. It fits in my pocket and even does video. It is no longer made. Here are over 1,400 pictures I took with it: Canon A1400 Images on Flickr

You might look at Amazon to see what is available for less than $50, which is not many: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Camer...6%3A1253504011
