there is no best settings for anything .best settings are different with each shot , lighting and artistic feeling .

settings are a range not some setting you go to in the camera that is static .

mathjak107 is right. You have to learn it. The S110 has a manual exposure mode. Play with it. Learn to read the light meter in camera. If you're not sure what settings to use set it to full auto and see what the camera wizard is thinking. Don't get discouraged if a lot of your first shots are too dark, light or fuzzy. Keep playing with it.

start with the camera in program mode and learn to adjust the exposure compensation wheel for starters .

learning to use a histogram if the camera has one can be key to getting good results.

many years ago i wrote a tutorial , here , on using it.
