It's 50/50 either way - for you. This is a setting you can change on your profile, and those of us who prefer seeing the images in the post can still do so.

I guess Alpha gets the final word on how to present pictures in the contests. |

I'm not a fan of opening thumbnails, and can't say I'd enjoy going back and forth looking at all of them. So I'm voting for regular pics with whatever "size-cap" everyone decides is reasonable.

I'm not a fan of thumbs either, and i'm still liking the idea of NOT posting images untill voting time.

I see your point shepsmom, but I also see where that could be a logistical problem with the moderators and the posters.
Say the voting time would start at 3pm on a tues. Well, some people are working and can't post then, some people are at the hospital visiting a sick relative, and some aren't around for the entire day, So, to get around that I would suggest possibly is there a way to direct message or email the submission to the mod handling the contest over a few days prior to it starting and then when it's time to judge, the mod would add them all to a thread to post, and then add the poll? Just trying to think it through. Seems like it would add a little more work, but, it seems to handle both issues, so as not to have everyone be online at the same time, or to try and have "invisible" postings up until the time of the voting... which seems even more unlikely. Alpha? |

Don't forget - you can still set the maximum size photo that the forum will display for you by changing your options on your control panel. There are individual settings for height and width. That might help, as well as changing your maximum posts per page.

That way all of the pictures can be entered, then the thread could be moved to the forum for public viewing and member voting. And make it a rule that entries can't vote until the thread is moved. Alpha? |

That's precisely the idea, have entries emailed to whomever (like i mentioned before, i volunteer to receive all the entries), i don't even have to participate in the contest if it creates a probelm for some. Entries can be mailed anytime you have picture available. They just wont be posted untill the voting time. If i may, the concerns about e-mail addresses or copyrights of your pictures are taken in consideration. Your pictures are not any more safe being on this board, then being emailed to whomever. Your email address is not going to be used for any kind of spam or anything in this nature. I'm heavily relying on everyone's honesty and good sportsmanship of this contest. So if there is a problem with the above, please raise your concerns here. ![]() ![]() |
