When I lived in the Outer Banks, I made friends with two folks, who operated a bird rescue, and enjoyed visiting them when my time permitted.....This is Smokey, a gorgeous macaw

Although I've never been fortunate enough to see these birds in their normal setting, a raptor group came to the Obed Wild and Scenic River Visitor's Center yesterday with a screech owl, a barred owl, a kestrel and a red tailed hawk. The group cares for injured raptors and does educational work in my area. Here are photos I took of the barred owl and red tailed hawk they brought with them. Neither bird can be released back into the wild due to injuries.

Laure, excellent shots, i keep on hearing owls around my house, but i can't never see one. As far as hawks, they're just too darn timid, and fly away as soon as they see you coming.
