This was in the Winchester Star paper Winchester VA.....
An instant landmark
Dennis Ridings of Irongate Inc. photographs the handiwork he and his co-workers completed Tuesday: a 100-foot-tall structural steel cross built for the Open Door Baptist Church, north of Clear Brook in Frederick County. The cross, easily visible from nearby Interstate 81, weighs almost 30 tons and sits on a base containing 460 cubic yards of concrete. Ten workers labored for seven weeks on the structure; it will eventually be covered with fiberglass and lit from within. The crossbar is 60 feet wide.
