Hang on FedUp, let me see if I can dig up some info for you.....I'm not sure about Qmode, sounds like something straight out of STNG, but hey, lets see if I can find something!

I have the manual but it is confusing. For instance Infinity—Use when taking pictures of distant objects and landscapes. But then it has a landscape setting...sigh
Well I will play with it and see what happens.

Fed I'm not sure what Qmode is, but when I consulted the on line guide for your camera, I found this paragraph for setting the camera in macro mode:

• Taking Pictures in Macro Mode
Use this mode to capture subjects close to the lens:
Wide Angle: 0.6 ~ 3.2 ft (15 cm ~ 1 m)
Telephoto: 1.3 ~ 3.2 ft (40 cm ~ 1 m)
Macro

1. Set the camera to Still Image mode.
2. Press the "left' button and the tulip icon appears on the LCD screen.
3. Capture procedures are the same as for taking a picture in the normal capture mode. See page 33.

let me see what the distances are....

If you have your manual, this info was found on page 34 of the online guide.

The landscape mode, is nice feature. Takes the guess work out of the setting, but they left the infinity feature there, if you want to play on your own.

See that's what's nice about some P&S cameras, they have enough automatic, to make it nice and easy, but enough 'tweak-ability' so that you can play if you want to....kind of like the best of both worlds!!

Let me know what you come up with, and if I can help you any further!

Thanks for explaining that! I am one of those people that if I read new directions I am lost But show me once or twice I got it for life!! Then the written directions make sence.

Gang,

I updated the thread with the winning images in it but I do not have a list of names as they are applicable to images.

If you'd like your name credited to your image, please DM me and let me know which picture is yours and I'll update the winners thread.

Thanks!

When you use landscape, it will often set infinity, so that it focuses to infinity, to keep the entire frame in focus in a landscape shot.
