I would think that as well, but it also states....
Which is the only reason why I asked. If we think a shot is "nice", why can't we say it?
Sorry for not explaining myself properly.
"If you are really sensitive and can't take criticism, i'll suggest not to post here."
doesn't mean that person going to be really harsh, I did ask to be helpful and nice, while giving a constructive criticism. Some people don't like their work critiqued, and only looking for "nice shot" type of comment and they get all mad and frustrated because critique was given.
That's what i meant by posting above. Hope that explains my intentions.
A lot of times i see those "Nice shot, love it, etc" just to make a photographer happy, but that's not going to help photographer. You need to be honest about your critique. If you truly think shot is nice, why don't you let photographer know WHY you think it's nice. There must be something that you like, right?
I'd suggest to poster, if they are looking for mild critique or really harsh one, they can state so in their post...
"I'm looking for an honest opinion"...
"Beat me up, i can handle it"....
"Please be nice".....
"Whip me good!"
etc....
All in all, weekly assignments are actually for you guys to experiment more then anything.
We can have a "Whip my shot" type of post where anyone can give you more thoughtful critique. Before and After is another idea.
Shepsmom, Do you think that going forward you can give us our assignments on Friday evenings? This is so us weekend photogs could get started right away - as in on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
I hope that there will be some assignments where we can add and remove objects. Unlimited creativity.
