Ive been to the Carolinas several times. I could maybe handle NC, but SC just isnt for me. Way too hot, way too humid, no big urban lifestyles can be offered, too buggy. Its nice to visit, ESPECIALLY CHARLESTON, but living there is another thing. But like you said, its all what makes you happy.

Just now saw the question in your last sentence. The answer is Park Ridge. Visiting there now and went into the Chicago Loop on the El today. It's a GREAT city to be sure, but I could not handle it any more on a regular basis. In fact, the sooner I get back on the road heading south, the happier I will be (once I get past all the construction zones, that is).
