Glasgow tenement being demolished.

Old Swimming Baths being demolished. pity it wasnt the mess behind them instead.
Old shop door now demolished.

My mother still lives around the corner. Most of that part of Glasgow is 'intact'. But, if you look in the background you can see more modern buildings where Glasgow University has expanded.
For me, the interesting bit is the expansion in individual car ownership over the period. Also, if you look carefully you can see a trolley bus on the road at the bottom. They have all gone too.

This is the same street (in the middle of the photo) taken by the Glasgow Corporation Planning Dept. in 1967. These are high def aerial photos. They were thrown out some ten years ago, found in a dumpster (skip) and scanned. I got a copy from one of the guys who bought them from the person who found them.
Ten years after the first photo, you can see that there are more cars but still not a lot. If you took the same photo today, the buildings would still be substantially the same. Just cleaner because they were all cleaned in the 1980s.
