Default Favorite Theme Park .....Let your pictures show why

Today I spent a family day at my fave theme park. Fanasty Island (Grand Island, NY) It's the best because I grew up going there, it's the same and I like the nostalgia of tell my kids "everything is the same" as when I was their age. It must be why they enjoy this place so much. We see the same "Wild West shoot-out Show" every year, and we still laugh like it's the first time seeing...

After a (comedic) tangle with "the outlaws", I'll give a hint..... the deputy sheriff always wins in the end.

Fantasy Island is not like "the big places" (Six Flags, Cedar Point, ect), it's basic.... simple, less waiting for rides and more time for fun. Cheaper than going to the fair and you are allowed to bring your own food/coolers. I carry my camera with me everywhere and took a few shots to share. (Please Note: I didn't go on any of the rides pictured, except the Merry-Go-Round & Antique Cars )

This next picture.... "Flight" is a new (2008) ride, someone said that when it's all the way to the top, you can see both the City of Buffalo & Niagara Falls.

This is called "The Silver Comet" ....

I'll share more pictures tomorrow... it's been a long day. In the meantime, share with us your favorite theme park & pictures why it's a fave. (Please leave location)

Ohhh, i love theme parks! THey are so much fun. I love rollercoasters, animals, you name it.
Good shots FWN, love the rides!!!

I like to visit Busch Gardens in Tampa. Some shots from last visit in March.
I didn't take too many pix of rollercoasters, i was riding them instead LOL

Mantu

Safari Adventures

Shiekra

Of course you can taste some beer

And listen to some music

Meet some cute animals

And not so cute ones

This park has a lot to offer, rides, birds, animals, food, you name it. It's all here. Whenever in FL, this place is a MUST to visit! Of course, besides Universla and all other ones.
This one is less then an hour away.
So come and visit!

ShepsMom, your pictures are awesome. I heard Busch Gardens is a place where you have to spend the whole day, and still you'll never get to see/do everything. I've never been there.

Thanks Photogal

Ah, I miss when Dollywood was Silver Dollar City. My parents would always take us there in the summers and they had a wild west show and a train robbery. I was really little, but still remember it. Great pics! Thanks for sharing those, Fedup.
Shepsmom, I haven't been to Busch Gardens in years either. The animal pics are beautiful, but my favorite is the roller coaster butt shot!!

Here are a few from last week when we were at Disney:
Riding the kiddie coaster (surprisingly fast for a kids ride).

It was so hot, my little one was cooling his feet on my mom's drink. LOL

We didn't quite make it back to the castle for the fireworks that night.

It's a Small World After All (I knew you would LOVE this one, Fedup )

Where all the cool Princesses hang out.

A very busy Main Street (close to midnight).

The Lion King show at Animal Kingdom

Another cool kiddie ride, like a giant people Mousetrap.

Star Wars Weekend at Hollywood Studios (my 7 year old was beside himself).

Anakin, my son's fav, he was so stunned he couldn't even speak to him.

Mooks, I like that my fave is not "commercialized". When Darien Lake (a competing theme park here) was turned into a Six Flags, the price of everything doubled. When it was returned to Darien Lake, the price never came down.

I love your pictures from Disney & the Star Wars theme.

The smaller, less commercial parks are so hard to find now. I'm not sure that there are any close to me. We usually go to Disney in the early spring or late fall so I knew summer would be busy, but wow, was it ever! We sent the guys running around the parks with all the tickets to get fast passes when we got there. The fast passes allow you to return to a ride at a certain time and not wait in line. I had researched Star Wars Weekends and read it was insanely busy so I knew before going. That day at Hollywood Studios, the fast passes were gone by around 9:30. Without them, the wait time for most of the rides was 1.5 hours. The wait for the new Toy Story ride was 2.5 hours!

Thanks!! Yes, you can spend whole day,it's a big park. But i think 1 day is all you need. It's not like Disney or Universal, those are huge parks!!
When you're in FL gimme a ring and we'll go to BGs!!
