Show Off your Editing Skills!
I feel like we need another thread dedicated to your CREATIVE side.
What i mean is, you can use this thread to post your creative shots with explanation on how you did it, and program used. I'd like to keep this thread for an educational purpose.
So, here is the deal. If you have a picture you'd like to show off that has been "artistically edited" with Photoshop or any other editing program, please post it here but, you need to tell us HOW you came up with the Effect. Preferably with step by step!. Treat it like a tutorial if you would.
I'm not talking about pictures that have been edited for color/exposure correction. No, that's not what this thread is about.
Any questions?

This was taken with my HP Photosmart M425, 5.0 mp digital camera. I used ArcSoft Photostudio to edit it. First I applied the Solarization filter to the entire image (Enhance, Special Filters, Solarization). Next I used the negative tool (Enhance, Negative) for the whole image as well. That's it for that one.
This one was edited using the same method, but looks slightly different since I guess the lightning was a different type (same storm though) and perhaps not as strong or something.

Anything goes, the more creative the better, as long as we can follow what has been done!

This is an orchid that I was experimenting with the various editing tool in Photoshop. To the best of my memory the only tool used here is the curves tool. By establishing anchor points and moving them up and down on the tone line I was able to create the various shades and colors. I'm a hacker with software often just to see how it works. Photoshop is full of surprises. What intrigued me here was the likeness of the little creature wearing the v-neck shirt.

The orchid is not really a skill but a learned tools radical effect. Now here is more what I call skills. This was a digital college level assignment. We were shown a slide show of a photographer by the name of Jerry Uelsmann that created composite images in the darkroom with enlargers. We had to do it digitally. This is what I chose to do.
All images had to be converted to grayscale.
I took photos of a tree with an osprey nest in it, a Harley, a power pole, and a street light fixture. I place the harley in the nest, added the street light fixture to the power pole and tied them together to make it appear the biker had power to his upscale pad. The eraser was used to cut out each image on it's layer. The transition/scale tool was used to size in proportion the individual layers. After the layers where flattened a gradient was applied to resemble a night sky. At least that was the plan. All in all this was a fun assignment and I actually got a passing grade.

I see the box. We had to do a box and print it out and make the box. I think I have the template somewhere if anyone is interested.

This is one I did for Katie! bridges.
I pasted these two photos together to do a painting. Many years ago. the pasted photo accidentally gets rained on.
[IMG] [/IMG]
This is a bad photo of the painting.
[IMG] [/IMG]
I scanned the rained on picture. I painted in details and fixed the bridge back. It is from the Biltmore estate. Added a field from our place and the Balsam mountains.

Painted some more and added some more.
